Aspire Steps CIC completes 12 months of support from UnLtd

Supporting the journey from idea to registered social enterprise
Aspire Steps CIC, based in the UK, has successfully completed the 12-month Funding Futures programme of funding and tailored support from UnLtd, the UK’s foundation for social entrepreneurs. This support helped founder and director Favour Iyoha develop Aspire Steps from an early idea into a registered Community Interest Company with a clear mission, structure, and delivery plan.
Throughout the programme, UnLtd provided ongoing guidance through regular support manager meetings, offering space to reflect, problem-solve, and make informed decisions as Aspire Steps developed. This included support around governance, sustainability, and building a venture rooted in long-term social impact rather than short-term outputs.
In addition to one-to-one support, Favour took part in UnLtd-led workshops and learning sessions, including in-person events. These created opportunities to learn from experienced practitioners and connect with other social entrepreneurs, supporting practical skill development and the sharing of insights and best practice.
The funding and tailored support enabled Aspire Steps CIC to focus on strengthening its foundations, investing in essential digital infrastructure, and developing accessible educational resources for young people. By the end of the 12 months, Aspire Steps had moved from concept to delivery, operating as a registered CIC with defined services and a sustainable model centred on affordability and access.
